Trumps first Obamacare Regulation - Just some tweaks

February 18, 2017

On Wednesday, the Trump administration released a report on its first Obamacare regulations.  This is a small tweak to the current system.  Trump still promises to reveal his repeal plan in the next few weeks.

Here is the quickest breakdown of the new regulation.

1) The regulation requires more documentation for people signing up during “special enrollment periods”

2) In an attempt to make it more difficult to purchase health insurance directly after it is needed, the regulation shortens the open enrollment period to 45 days, down from 90.

3) It adjusts how plan values are calculated in way to reduce the amount of Obamacare subsidies offered to the enrollees.
