Phil, a Capitola native, noticed early one morning that a stubborn rash on his arm had doubled in size since the night before. Eager to get it checked out, he called Kaiser's new office in Santa Cruz.
Phil has gotten all too used to being told he needs to wait 2 weeks or so to see his primary care physician. In the past, Phil has gone to urgent care instead of waiting.
He looks at his rash and calls Kaiser first thing in the morning. "Can you come in at 9am or 11am?"
"Woah, I'm not ready yet. Can I come in at 3pm?"
How important is your access to care?
At Kaiser's 3 new Santa Cruz facilities, there are 15 primary care physicians and 25 specialists.
Kaiser has a dedicated staff of over 200 people, 95% of which live in Santa Cruz county.
